The Reference Center helps students manage a personal collection of references, create references, and import RIS files downloaded from databases.  

 

An account is needed to create and manage references.

 

 

 

 


Adding References

 

There are two ways to add a reference in the Reference Center, all of which require setting up an account with Academic Writer.

 

Create a reference using resource-specific templates (i.e. periodicals, dissertations, books, etc.) or,

 

Import a RIS -Research Information Service file (downloaded from the database of your choice).

 


 

To Import an RIS file from a database:

 

 

1.  Select "CITE", then RIS:

2.  Select "SAVE".  The file will download to your PC:

3.  Open Academic Writer, then select "ADD REFERENCE":

4.  Select "IMPORT", choose file origin, and download in Academic Writer:
